Once upon a time, in the United States lived Redaer Koob--the book searcher--in a brown, two bedroom, frame house. This house, surrounded by roses, shrubs, and blue-green grass, was to Redaer a sanctuary, as the psalm to God is a praise, lay on the edge of a city pond. Redaer, a curious, slightly active and adventurous five-year-old, continues the mission for books: Any type of book, thick or thin, narrow or wide, that has many pictures and words inside.
"A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, N, O, um, um, P, Q, R, S, T, U, W, Z. Now I know my ABC, um, um, naxt, time sang with me."
"Redaer. Redaer, it's story time" beckoned a woman's voice.
"Here I come. I'm sanging my ABC?s, Mommie."
From a willow tree, "ouch, ouch, ooo, ooo," thump, emerged Redaer. Out of breath Redaer yelled, Whoopie! It's story time. It's story time. Mom is gonna read to me. Mom is gonna read to me. Redaer arrives at the back door. Quickly past the white double door (with the water server) refrigerator, swiftly through the dining room, and hopping up into Mrs. Koob's lap arrived Redaer, ready for the afternoon story, asks, "What book today, Mommie?"
"Redaer, how about the Wolf and the Pigs?" (Redaer gently slides down her legs to the floor as she stands and takes a book from the book shelf five feet from the floor.)
"Okay, Mommie. (Redaer lays with hands propped under chin and feet far behind intertwined.) I like the wolf and the pigs. Can I help read?"
